NOTICE OF INTENT REMINDER

Thank you to all of you that have already completed your Notice of Intent for next school year.  We have begun planning our organization for the 2025–26 school year, with much of it based on projections of the number of students who will be enrolled at Elizabeth Rummel School.

Although we are aware that plans can change, we would appreciate knowing if your child(ren) will or will not be attending ERS in the upcoming school year, or LGMS for our Grade 4 students (Sept 2025-26).

If you have not yet already, can you please click on the link 2025-26 ERS Notice of Intent to fill out the form at your earliest convenience - it only takes a minute! I promise!

Please note that you do not need to re-register your child each year. We only need your Notice of Intent form submission to let us know if they are staying at ERS or moving on to LGMS.

And if you have any children starting Kindergarten next year - please check out our new Kindy Hub!  Full of information and links for students starting in September.

The CRPS head office has received messages from concerned citizens that they have witnessed a number of students cycling around town without their helmets on.  Often they have their helmets either hanging off their bags or bikes.  It may be that these students are not from ERS but we've been asked to spread the message, because according to the Traffic Safety Act anyone under the age of 18 is legally required to wear a helmet while riding their bicycles, or while riding as a passenger on a bicycle.  This is as good a time as any to remind our kiddos to be safe out there!

The end of the school year countdown is on! If you are in the school please take a peek through the Lost & Found (in the front entryway) before the end of June.  All items left after June 27, will be donated to the Eagle's Nest Stoney Family Shelter.

CRPS SATISFACTION SURVEY

As we move into the new school year we are gathering feedback on the quality of education provided by Canadian Rockies Public Schools. We use this information to understand how we are doing and plan for the future. Here at ERS this information will help guide our new Four Year Education Plan as well as drive our school initiatives.

Parent feedback is very important to us. The CRPS’ Parent Satisfaction Survey contains 46 questions (1 question for those with student(s) on an IPP) and will take approximately 10 – 15 minutes to complete. Survey can be completed on CRPS’ public website under About Us/Satisfaction Survey or using the Survey Link. The survey will be open until June 30, 2025.

GRADE 1 Générosité

"We are Mme. McGrath & Mme. Marti's Grade 1 French Immersion students from Elizabeth Rummel School in Canmore, Alberta and we recently sent you an electronic transfer donation of $216.45 through our music teacher Mrs. Gadon.

We learned a beautiful French song called On ecrit sur la murs by Kids United which we performed at our spring concert.  The song is about giving hope to kids around the world through Unicef.  We had the idea of collecting donations to raise money for kids through your charity and with homemade collection boxes, we raised over $200 after the show.  The theme of our spring concert was Music: Making the World a Brighter Place, and we believe this shines though with our hard work in music class and our support for Unicef Canada.

Merci!"

EXTRA CLOTHES & DRESSING FOR THE WEATHER

ERS is asking for all students to keep a full change of clothes in their backpacks at all times. With the warmer weather comes puddles and mud, and we are unable to provide students with a change of clothes, meaning parents may have to bring new clothes to the school during the day.

We would also appreciate any donations you can share of indoor and outdoor clothing to add to our closet – we gladly accept clean items in good condition (no rips, tears or worn knees) for all sized kiddos.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION FOR 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR

For the 2025-2026 school year, all students who will be taking Canadian Rockies Public School (CRPS) bus transportation must complete an online registration form. This ensures the system has accurate, up-to-date student information. Please note: a registration form is required for each student intending to ride the school bus in the 2025-26 school year.  Failure to complete the form indicates your child(ren) will not need bus service next school year.

To access the 2025-2026 School bus registration form, please follow the link to sign in to your parent portal account. Once signed in, you will click on School Engage to access the Bus Registration form. Please complete the registration form by June 11, 2025 in order to receive your bus pass before the start of the 2025-26 school year.

If you require further information regarding Transportation Registration please follow the link Transportation Registration and Info.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED FOR 2025/26

From German schnitzel to Spanish paella, hosting an international student means sharing stories over home-cooked meals - and sometimes getting treated to one yourself.  Just ask the 2 local families whose Italian students didn't know each other before arriving, but quickly bonded over skiing and making pasta from scratch.

We can't promise every student is a chef, but we can promise they'll bring in fresh perspective, cultural exchange, and meaningful connection into your home. And no, you don't need kids of your own or ties to the school district to apply.

Remuneration will increase to $1375/month for the 2025/26 school year and $1475/month for 2026/27!

What do you need to provide?

A full-time home in Banff or Canmore, a private bedroom for the student, and a room in your heart for a teen aged 14-17 who wants to practice English and experience life in the Rockies.  Host families are in short supply for the 2025-26 school year.

Help make someone's Canadian dream come true.
